We started the day with one last breakfast at our hotel. At 10 AM, we departed
by bus and made our way to Campina Grande. Upon arrival
we checked into our next hotel, the Garden Hotel. We had free time until 5 PM, which
many used to explore the surroundings, grab something to eat, or cool off in one of the many
pools.
At 5 PM, we met for a brief briefing before heading to the Federal
University of Campina Grande, where we met again with the singers of the Coro de Câmara de
Campina Grande. Together we rehearsed the pieces for our performance the
next day. We started with “Locus Iste” and “Baba Yetu” under the direction of Vladimir
Silva. It was very exciting for us to receive impulses and suggestions from another conductor
and exchange ideas with the other choir singers. With Thomas, we then rehearsed
“Dark Night of the Soul” and “Kia Hora,” a piece from New Zealand by the Māori that
addresses global peace. After the rehearsal, the choir members had set up a buffet of
regional specialties, pizza, and fruits, and we had dinner together.
Meanwhile, a few Brazilians began to play traditional music and dance, and
soon some of us joined in. Around 9:30 PM, we started our way back and ended
the evening with card games and Werewolf.
