St. Ives

My very last day trip during my journey through Europe was to St. Ives. And I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful trip. I took the train from Penzance towards St. Ives. Yes, you read that right, towards it. Somehow, I managed to get off one station too early. Ultimately, however, this turned out to be quite good. This way, I discovered a stunning coastal path and was able to hike through beautiful nature.

A path that consistently ran along the sea, with the option to stroll down to the beach. But also a path adorned with lovely foliage and segments through a little patch of forest.

And then St. Ives appeared before my eyes. With a truly beautiful view of the city.

St. Ives is also a picturesque, artistic coastal town. Here, I saw most of the galleries, and every little shop sold some form of art.

Then I set out to explore the place a little more closely. I found a cozy park. A small quiet oasis amid all the hustle and bustle. I had lunch in a quaint café and strolled through the beautiful streets and alleys, stopping to check out a gallery or two along the way.

To view the city again from a different perspective up high, I then walked to St. Ives Head. From there, there is a beautiful view over several bays that lie directly in front of the city.

And because the path I accidentally discovered was so beautiful, I decided to go back the same way.

In the last bay before my stop, I went swimming once more. One last time on my journey, admiring the clear, deep blue water and simply enjoying myself.

I feel like I made the most of my week in Cornwall. I thoroughly explored the north and west, and thanks to my train rides, I saw quite a bit of the rest of Cornwall too. This little spot on Earth in the UK has grown very dear to me. The sea and the summer weather are simply the best combination. A good and very successful conclusion to my journey!
