In the city of Sheffield, I actually only stopped because I wanted to go hiking in the Peak District for a day, and Sheffield is located very nicely close to the national park.
On my first evening, I mainly just watched the sunset and enjoyed the view over the city.

The next day, I mainly went hiking, but more on that in the next post!
I still had some time to wander around the city in the early evening. I had actually picked out a gallery that showcases modern art, but unfortunately it was closed at that time due to renovation work. So here are a few random impressions of the city:

The highlight for me was definitely the hiking, but I also found the few impressions I got of the city quite nice. However, to really say something meaningful, I would have needed to engage more with the city and stay a little longer. I especially enjoyed the view over the city (right behind the train station), which I discovered almost by chance. It is definitely worth using as a base to explore the first spots in the Peak District.
