First week in AirBnB
First impression of Sydney: Huge & super clean. I haven't seen any trash here yet. Manuel and I took the train from the airport to Kings Cross. We said goodbye there and I...

On 02.07.2024, it started, I was driven by my family to the Siegburg train station. From there, I took the ICE to Frankfurt Airport.
I arrived a few hours before my flight because I wanted to have some buffer time to find my way around the airport. When my flight eventually appeared on the display board, I went to the Air India counter to check in.
The guy at the counter didn't speak German, only Indian and English, so I had to demonstrate my English skills for the first time.
When he asked for my visa and checked it, there was suddenly a problem.
My passport number is stated on the granted visa application, but there was one digit too many in the application. However, I was 100% sure that I had provided the correct number when I applied, as I had checked it at least 20 times.
In the end, the man at the counter called his boss, who contacted the Australian government to confirm if my visa was still valid.
I had to wait for 10 minutes to receive an answer on whether I could travel or not. Meanwhile, I realized that I was completely sweaty because it made me very nervous and I thought all the planning was in vain.
I was incredibly happy when I was informed that everything was sorted out and I could board the plane.
Flight from Frankfurt to Delhi:
As I sat down and looked at the plane, I noticed that although it looked good at first glance, upon closer inspection, the seat screws were not tightened but loose, and not a single TV was working. In normal circumstances, the seats could be adjusted, but unfortunately, this plane was so broken that the seats moved with every slightest movement.
It all seemed very cheap. The music playing there was actually very relaxing and reminded me of a spa area.
My seat neighbor was a very sturdy Indian who should have paid for 2 seats because he occupied half of mine and half of his left neighbor's with his arms. The first snack that arrived was rice puffs with sour cream & onion flavor, so you can imagine how it smelled there. The first proper meal was curry, and when my seat neighbor stuffed his chicken curry into his mouth without utensils, I was close to vomiting.
Unfortunately, the guy kept farting the whole time and didn't even try to release the farts quietly.
Flight from Delhi to Sydney:
On the flight from Delhi to Sydney, I sat in the last row and had a nice seat neighbor. His name is Manuel, he is from Italy, and so far, we get along well. He is 24 years old and also has a Working Holiday Visa in Australia. This plane was much better than the first flight because my seat could be adjusted, and the TV was working. We joked about one of our luggage not arriving. When we landed and I waited for my luggage, I was eventually approached by a woman at the airport asking if everything was okay. I told her that I couldn't find my luggage, even though everyone else from the plane already had theirs. She asked for my tracking number and then said it did not fly from Frankfurt…
Bloody hell, if we had just not made jokes about it.
They said the backpack would be sent to the Airbnb 24 hours later.
