Halftime - A first review

Published: 12.07.2019

In three weeks today, I will already be in Reykjavik to visit the capital. It's time for a first review. Today we spent a rather lazy afternoon (no tours - only rode 2 horses and worked with a young horse) and therefore also found time to spend some time in the hot pot - which is called Hottop here. Looking at the waterfall and listening to the sound of the waterfall, you can think excellently. The Hottop actually has the advantage over the normal bathtub that it doesn't get cold, but is heated as long as hot water is supplied. I feel a bit like a cooked lobster right now and quite relaxed. Now for the review... I couldn't have asked for better. Even though it's sometimes a bit chaotic here, I have never been stressed here and enjoy every day. I don't want to sound esoteric or like I'm on a self-discovery trip, but the time here is doing me incredibly well. Getting up early in the morning, spending the whole day in the fresh air, working with the horses, doing other work on the farm, or the work that needs to be done in the guesthouse, taking care of breakfast - the small talk conversations with guests in all languages possible. So I've never been bored here... And as for working with the horses - it couldn't be better. In the meantime, I have ridden 15 different horses, from top-notch horses to comfortable rental horses, with each horse being ridden individually according to agreement with Magnus. And with each horse and each ride, I learn something new. I am very grateful to Magnus here for giving me these opportunities and I think he is quite satisfied with what I am doing here. I have already met other Germans here and none of them had the opportunities that I have here, and everyone says it's really great here. I would actually like to take some of the horses I ride here, but I wouldn't do that to the horses. In the freedom that the horses have here, they cannot live with us and we should spare them the import to Germany.

In any case, I will enjoy every day that I still spend here.
