Eating on the go

Published: 08.06.2022

Meals on a boat are vastly different! While the seasoned sailors on the "rescued" neighboring ship have the motto "there must always be something dead", we eat pumpkin risotto and today we have quark pancakes with vegetables. Bread is being baked and the first sprouts are sprouting. How lucky the Scots let us and our 5 foreign rice varieties in.

All of this also changes drastically for us on wobbly sea passages: a toast to chicken with rice from a can!

Michael can still eat Russian tuna salad, while I crunch on a pretzel and then another one and another one.... As a child, I always had crumbs in my sailing jacket.

Our experience: as long as we keep our stomachs busy, they are distracted and don't think stupid thoughts.

If that doesn't help, you can try everything from acupressure points to prescription hammers.

I sympathize with those whose balance organ is much more sensitive!

But beware! Seasickness is like nail fungus: others have it until you have it yourself.
