Ubud, Bali๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽ‹๐Ÿš

After we were four on Sunday we drove to Ubud in the afternoon with a private carpool. There we rented a villa in the middle of the rice fields for 3 nights. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived in Ubud. As it was a relatively long way uphill with the luggage, we were driven individually to the house by scooter + luggage. It was initially frightening to drive with so much weight on a scooter! But we arrived safely and first admired our new home for three days, big with a pool and in the middle of the rice fields. The first night was a bit challenging because we could hear so many animals outside since the house was very open!

In the morning, we had delicious fresh pancakes. Strengthened, we rented scooters to explore Ubud easily. Since I had only tried driving a scooter alone before, it was difficult for me to ride with an additional person. On the straight road, everything was no problem, until the first small uphill to turn around, first fall with many bruises and grazes. Actually, we wanted to go to the rice terraces and someone was nice and wanted to lead us there after our fall. However, he did not lead us where we wanted to go, but to a coffee plantation, which was also really nice. We were allowed to try various types of tea and coffee for free. Next stop was a temple. A big temple where there was holy water where everyone stood and prayed and stood under the water. The last stop was the rice terraces. It looked simply beautiful, but it was a shame that it was so touristy. After that, we went to the Ubud Market and had something to eat. In the evening, weakened, we struggled up the small path to the villa with the scooter once again. ๐Ÿค•

Second day in Ubud, I had a scooter trauma, pain everywhere, and did not want to get on the scooter anymore. Then we decided to do everything that was still decent on foot. In the morning we had already planned a hike, which we did for 2 1/2 hours through the forest and rice fields. Totally exhausted from the heat, we jumped into the pool and cooled off. At noon, we walked to the Monkey Forest. It was a large area with many small and large temples, lots of greenery, and many monkeys.
