In Nara we visited the Todai-ji Temple. There lies the largest Buddha statue in Japan. The body is a proud 15 meters tall, plus the head. The statue is housed in a massive building that is one of the largest wooden structures in the world.
The moment we entered the huge gates of the hall and looked at the Buddha was very impressive.
