We leave Troyes with shiny wheels, departing the Seine and will spend the next two days on the Velo 56 bike path. We start with the Canal du Restitution, which leads to a chain of three reservoirs. These are used for regulating the water levels of the Seine.

Regional Nature Park Forêt d’Orient

The Velo 56 bike path runs along the lakes through the nature park.

The Lac d'Orient is connected to the Seine via two channels and can release water when needed to ensure navigation. Furthermore, the three lakes are interconnected by canals.

Meanwhile, the bike path runs through wooded areas and provides additional shade on today's very relaxing tour.

The middle Lac d'Auzon-Temple can be drained into the Aube via a canal.
