Toulouse - Moissac - Damazan
We continue from Toulouse along the side canal of the Garonne.

Today we will cycle to La Réole, where the campsite is located right by the Garonne River.

In 36 °C we arrive at the campsite in La Réole at 2 PM and take refuge in the shade. The campsite is on the left bank, this area has been flooded several times after storms due to Garonne's high water. It is expected to rise to 40 °C today, so only sweat is flowing.
From the campsite, we can see the town center on the opposite bank.
The town seemingly has seen better days and looks a bit run down. In 1793, La Réole had the highest population (5,035); today there are about 4,300.
A railway line runs through the village. From the campsite, we can see the power line masts behind the trees in the town, and occasionally a train speeds by. Many trains do not seem to stop here.
The trains travel right through the town; unfortunately, we could not experience this during our city walk. Across the river at the campsite, it was already loud enough.
