Photography course and co

I arrive at the agreed meeting point, 2 minutes late, but my Greek workshop leader is not here yet - the good Stylianos (https://www.stylianosphotography.com/)

What am I doing here? Well, I'm getting the art of photography explained to me while being shown the most beautiful corners of the city.

Stylianos is in his 50s and knows his craft - as a native Corfiot, he loves his life here, although it took him to Scotland for a while. After his life as a bar owner, he devoted himself to his true passion - photography. We wander through the streets, discuss, he keeps questioning me🥴, snap photos, sweat, and laugh. It's fun! I take away a lot, whether it's always keeping the magic triangle in mind or imagining the photo first and then taking the camera. He also teaches me the best body posture for portrait shots! After 3 hours, we go to his studio, drink water, and talk. And I think: I've been here before. And that's true: the day before, I was at the supermarket across the street (once again, there is no shower gel and travel detergent) and I enjoyed the beautiful photographs in the store when I left. The world is a (Corfiot) village.

Stylianos reminds me to practice over and over again: to sit down and experiment with different camera settings. He is my teacher for the day - for photography and for the most beautiful corners of the city.

I go to have a salad, chat with the waiter, gladly accept his invitation for a date (but don't keep it) and always realize how easy it is to strike up a conversation here, quickly have a coffee or beer together. I like that, everyone is friends with everyone.

And I have probably never encountered so many nationalities as here: Italians, Spanish, Brazilians, Greeks... anything is possible. But no one has ever thought of German/Mozambican 😊
