From Labenz to Scharbeutz/Baltic Sea

Another beautiful morning awaits me today. I dry all my things and pack up my trailer. The kind soul who gave me accommodations is so lovely. She makes me a cup of coffee and offers me to stay as long as I like. I thank her for the wonderful time🙏😊

I am still not sure how to get to Norway. Now I heard last night that it is not allowed to enter Norway from Sweden. I first head towards Travemünde and will decide later.

I arrive in Lübeck and am excited about the beautiful city. The Holsten Gate and the banks of the Trave river fascinate me.

I find out that it is possible to enter Norway from Denmark. But I can only enter Denmark if I have booked a fixed stay for at least six nights. It will be exciting.

Next destination is Kiel. I get lost at a junction and decide to scout for a place to spend the night. The terrain is very hilly, long climbs, it is occasionally difficult to make progress. I meet a young woman with two dogs, with whom I quickly get into a conversation. She asks me why I don't want to go straight to the Baltic Sea, it's very beautiful there. Well, I don't have to think about it for long...I am very surprised that the sea is only 12 km away. I have never driven as fast as I am now on the entire trip. Anticipating the sandy beach and the sea, I give it my all🚲😅😎

And there it is... The Baltic Sea with the wind blowing in my face, the bright fine sandy beach with its beach chairs. The seagulls are circling above me. Wonderful! I am simply happy in this moment...with my bike from Ottobrunn to Scharbeutz... 730 km...muscle power...that's something.

Now I am facing the big question of the evening: Where can I stay tonight? I trust that something good will come up. There is a campsite across the street...curiously, I ride into the wide driveway. There are no barriers, no fences. The reception is closed... of course, it's already 9:30 pm🤭 I meet a woman and ask her if it's really true, as posted at the reception, that there are no more vacancies here. She says I can definitely set up my small tent with her, there is still plenty of space. No one needs to know. We spend a very nice evening with a glass of wine😂. Her two children and the dog Felix are also present. I am so grateful for that🙏😊
