West-USA Family Road Trip

If I were a tour operator, I would describe the road trip like this: “This journey for families with children aged 8 and older through the four states of California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona is defined by fascinating contrasts: it ranges from bustling cities to abandoned ghost towns, from breathtaking national parks to entertainment hotspots, and takes you through spectacular mountain landscapes, forests, and endless desert expanses.”

Our route starts in San Francisco, from where we travel through Yosemite National Park and Mono Lake, past Death Valley, to Las Vegas. The journey continues through Cedar Breaks National Monument and Red Canyon in Bryce Canyon National Park, and then on to Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon. Departing from Page, we head to the Grand Canyon and along Route 66 to Joshua Tree National Park. After that, we visit Legoland California, and finally spend several days in Hollywood and Los Angeles.

The itinerary includes several pre-booked fixed tours and events, as well as detours to beautiful but less frequented places, which we might skip if time is tight. We want to take sufficient time to get a good impression of the national parks through several kid-friendly hikes.
