Keelung without a plan

From Taipei, we continued our journey with a rental car to the north of Taiwan, specifically towards Keelung.

As so often on this trip, we were quite spontaneous and only organized accommodation relatively late. Our actual favorite was, of course, already booked, so we quickly booked a hotel right in the city center of Keelung.

Before we even arrived at the hotel, we treated ourselves to a good coffee and, of course, some cinnamon rolls. Priorities must be set. At that point, everything sounded quite relaxed. It was... somewhat.

Because the hotel had no parking. And so we suddenly found ourselves in the middle of rush hour traffic, somewhere in the narrow streets of Keelung. Lots of traffic, many scooters, little space, and we right in the midst of searching for a parking spot. After a few rounds and rising anxiety, we thankfully found a parking garage. However, we took the wrong entrance right away. But that's a story of its own...

After checking in, it was clear. We need food. So we went out for ramen again. Better safe than sorry.

Afterwards, we strolled through one of the night markets. Everywhere food, lights, smells, and that typical Taiwan feeling. Loud, lively, and somehow exactly what you expect.

To close the night, we ended up at Haven Taproom & Craft Beer Bar.

The bar is a small spot for craft beer, offering mainly local and international varieties. Everything felt quite relaxed and modern, no frills, just a good focus on beer. The perfect place to wind down the day. And honestly, after searching for parking in rush hour traffic, this beer felt more than well-deserved.
