Barcelona πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

Published: 09.09.2024

After a 10-hour bus ride, I finally arrived in Barcelona. I enjoyed 5 minutes in bed, took a shower, and then headed into the city. I was starving. Meeting up with a Belgian girl, we took a quick stroll through the park at the Arc de Triomf before settling down in the next best restaurant for some really good Indian food. After that, it was off to bed for me as it had been a long day and I wanted to be fit for the next. In the morning, I headed straight into the city to catch a glimpse of Barcelona’s city center. Unfortunately, it started to rain over the course of the morning, and we ended up doing our tour more or less in the rain. Well, it didn’t matter; it was still beautiful and interesting. We particularly checked out the old town with its churches/cathedrals, houses, and alleys. Later, I headed to the Sagrada Familia and all the famous Gaudi buildings. It was quite fascinating to see how these crazy but really cool buildings stand among the rustic, beautiful houses. For a quick snack, I went to the market. Fortunately, it stopped raining in the afternoon, but I was still soaked, so I started my way home and took a short nap. In the evening, I went out first for tapas with a few girls and then a round to the beach. It was still too early to head home for Barcelona, so a few of us spontaneously decided to make the night into day. Another traveler joined us, and soon there were four of us. We sat down in a bar and ordered a liter of sangria along with some shots, making the evening perfect. After the second liter, we wanted to explore the clubs of Barcelona as well. We ended up spending the rest of the night there. At dawn, we cooled off in the sea. Throughout the morning, we leisurely strolled back to our hostel. We declared the next day a beach day and enjoyed a day in the sun. We thought it wasn't right to go out only once in Barcelona, so in the evening, we went out again. This time we joined a pub crawl and marched from pub to pub with around 20 other people from all over the world, finishing up in a club. This time, we didn’t stay out quite as late; by 5, I was already in bed at the hostel. After breakfast, it was time for me to continue my journey to the next city. 🫢🏼
