South Africa Bimmel Bammel Tour 2024 Day 3

After last night's culinary highs, we slept like marmots and are now ready to embrace the new day with fresh energy. The weather forecast promises warm temperatures, but rain clouds keep flashing up – yet we can’t see that at the moment, as the sky is shining in a beautiful blue with a few loose clouds.

Today we have decided to visit the Buitenverwachting winery. This place is not just a winery, but a little paradise amidst breathtaking landscapes.

We quickly agree that we need to indulge in a little wine tasting – even though it’s only noon. A tasting of five different wines costs only 100 ZAR (approximately 5 Euros). The tasting is led by a charming young German woman who entertains us with exciting stories about the wines and their production. All the wines are delicious, but the rosé has collected particularly many points with us. Naturally, the rosé is joining us in our car – it’s now our new travel companion!

Afterwards, we stop by Ralf Schumacher's estate. However, we’ve decided not to use the “Kevin Trick” and just observe everything from the outside.

On the way back to Cape Town, we stop at a small shopping center. There is the Italian Massimo, which has been highly recommended to us. We make a reservation for dinner. After that, we stroll through the supermarket – I always find it exciting to see what curious products are on the shelves here.

The sky is slowly clouding over, but it doesn’t look like rain at the moment. In Camps Bay, we pop into a beach bar to enjoy the sea breeze.

No sooner have we taken our seats than a nasty dark cloud sneaks in and the sky opens the floodgates – it’s raining cats and dogs!

We have no choice but to order another drink. A tour group from Munich is sitting at the next table, and we dive into an animated conversation about Africa – so much so that we almost forget the rain and the time.

Later, we drive back to the guesthouse and enjoy a coffee with Martina and Klaus.

In the evening, we head to Massimo – an Italian restaurant that is urban yet grounded. The cuisine is delicious and very inviting.

I order a pizza with really spicy pepperoni. The waiter warns me and suggests serving the hot sauce separately – a real lifesaver! Otherwise, I would have felt like a volcano inside.

After the meal, we head straight back to the Vyn. Tonight, we want to go to bed early, as tomorrow a very special adventure awaits!
