Bogota - Fruit Tasting + Monserate + Bogota Derby

Day 21

Bogotá

After a long night, we arranged to meet at a leisurely time at the Paloquemao mercado de fruta for a guided fruit tasting. Our acquaintance from Switzerland also accompanied us. Our guide explained to us the variety of fruits in Colombia, including samples. A greeting from a Colombian to us Germans was also remembered. I allowed myself a few dried coca leaves. But don't worry, they have more of the effect of green tea ;)

Afterwards, Till and I went to Monserate, the mountain lookout in Bogota. We went up by cable car and down by train. An incomparable view and also a church awaited us at the top.

In the evening we were able to get tickets for the Clásico Bogotano - FC Millonario vs Independiente Santa Fe through Marius and Connection. With Colombian acquaintances in our luggage, we were able to cheer our colors - blue and white of course - to a 3-1 victory. The fan chant here focuses more or less on insulting the opponent, often with the word 'Puta'. The level is also manageable compared to HSV, but this city derby was still a memorable experience. The game was originally scheduled outside of our presence in Bogota, but fate brought us together anyway. Then we went back to the clubs.
