Day 120 Around Exmouth

For this day we went south of Exmouth to the Charles Knife Canyon to drive to the Thomas Carter Lookout. The views from the street into the canyon down to the beach were amazing. The sun was still pretty low in the sky, so one could imagine how beautiful a sunrise at this spot would be.

At almost the end of the road is the walk of the day: Badjirrajirra Trail along a rocky pathway inland leads to two lookouts with views over the Charles Knife Canyon. The walk is either a loop walk or you can walk one way to the lookout and back, which would be highly recommended as the other way is longer. On the walk you can see some wildflowers but otherwise there is not much to see. The lookouts from the canyon road were a lot better...

After this strenuous walk, it is time to go to another beach: Bundegi Beach. This beach turns out to be for boats and fishing, so no turtles or swimming. So we drove on to the beach with the SS Mildura Ship Wreck for a quick look at the shipwreck which made it necessary and possible for the lighthouse to be built.

After all these stops, Stuart wanted to explore the fabulous Exmouth bakery again and went for the probably best: blueberry turnover
