Day 5/Sun (🚗La Jagua-Pitalito):

The next morning, we were awakened at 6 o'clock by very loud church bells. 🥴😫😴

After a modified Colombian breakfast with arepas, coffee, real hot chocolate, white bread, scrambled eggs - “modified” because the typical Colombian breakfast additionally includes a soup, rice, and boiled chicken😳) - we continued our journey to Pitalito. 

The roads were good, the traffic manageable - but as mentioned before, the driving styles here are very peculiar. 😅

In Pitalito, we were allowed to stay at Boris's mother's house.

We didn't take any excursions that day but went for a small city walk, including a stop at a very nice café. As it turned out, it belongs to another good friend of Erhard, who markets coffee from his own plantation here.

And we were also invited to visit the plantation - a work assignment, as it turned out 🤣🤣 But more on that later…
