Zip the zap and Arrowtown

Glenorchy Today we could sleep in, the pickup point for today’s activity was at Mullstreet at 9:50 AM. However, the 10-minute walk means a complete crossing of this place. In the minibus, the liability waiver forms were first signed. It felt good to finally deal with forms again!
At the base camp, we received our equipment and got to do a first dry run. The two guides were always patient and lightened the mood with constant small talk. However, to reach the first zipline, we had to walk 100 meters uphill in stages. A certain level of basic fitness is beneficial. Luckily, the Australian was quickly out of breath.
Upon reaching the top, there was a nice view, albeit paired with a slight uneasy feeling. The Australian couldn't bring himself to continue and had to walk back down the laboriously climbed mountain. We managed the Flying Scotsman (100 m high, 200 m long) relatively calmly. Barely landed, there was a distinctly audible rockfall nearby. After several minutes of walkie-talkie communication, it seemed everyone agreed that everything was safe. Overall, there were 8 zip lines to descend the mountain. I found the lines directly over the stream the most beautiful. Photos don’t really do it justice; Paradise Zip Lines probably has videos on YouTube.

Since we still had half a day ahead of us, we set off for Arrowtown. The old gold mining town has a nice Western charm and is very lively. From this Saturday, there was live music in at least 3 local pubs, and the venues were well attended. Unfortunately, we found no gold. However, the town is much cozier than Queenstown - here, just passing through was already too much.
