Wilder Jungle Ride (nzl. suicide road)

We were on our way from Tapu to Cooks Beach to a free camping spot. From there, we were supposed to go to Cathedral Coves. Google showed us a great shortcut.

Instead of going through Kopu and Hikuai, there was a shorter route. Right through the jungle. It was raining so heavily, the roads were so narrow and steep that we had to turn around completely stressed out at 1/3 of the way and had to drive all the way around.

Arriving at the campsite, we rewarded ourselves with a thick steak. The meat here, even from the supermarket, is incomparable.

Learning of the day: Trust the signs!!!

Another learning: New Zealand simply has amazing meat 🥩
