Welcome to Miami 🇺🇸

Our flight was really good. We could hardly sleep, but that didn’t bother us at all. As luck would have it, we sat next to the lovely Katharina and her adorable daughter Camilla (7 months), who has had her second home in Miami for a few years and could give us plenty of tips.

We spent New Year's Eve at her recommendation in Bayfront Park, where a beautiful fireworks display awaited us at midnight! 🎇

After that, we actually headed home right away and fell into bed, utterly exhausted 😴

On New Year's Day, we started well-rested to South Beach, where we had breakfast on Ocean Drive & then spent the rest of the day chilling at Miami Beach 😎🌊

If you’re in Miami, a visit to the Everglades is a must. So on Thursday, we took an Uber there. We booked an airboat tour where we saw alligators and other extraordinary birds 🐊

We spent the afternoon at the Bayside Marketplace, a large shopping center by the water with numerous shops and delicious restaurants.

On Katharina's recommendation, we took a 1.5-hour sightseeing boat tour where we could admire the beautiful & expensive coastal areas and the breathtaking skyline of Miami. It was truly amazing and we can definitely recommend it 😍

Our last day started with Katharina inviting us to her home - and what can I say: Her home is just incredible 😄 they live on the 36th floor in First Row in Downtown Miami with an amazing pool area, where we spent the morning together ☀️👙 afterwards, we had lunch with her husband Derek and the little girl at Julia & Henry's (also highly recommended, there are numerous food stalls spread over 3 floors, with something for everyone 🤤)

In the afternoon, we were back at Miami Beach swimming 😍 and in the evening we went to the Wynwood district for tacos 🌮

We really enjoyed Miami because of the lifestyle and the atmosphere! (but in the long term, it would surely be too expensive 😂)

Today, we are heading to Cuba 🇨🇺 we are already sitting at our gate waiting for departure ✈️
