June 18, 2025Valencia / Spain 2025Cruise My Ship Relax - Italy's Sunny Side June 11 - June 20, 2025City and Botanical Garden

In Valencia, it is very inexpensive to get to the old town. From the ship, you first take the free port shuttle to the port exit and then follow the signs across the street to the bus stop. On all my trips, there has always been a staff member available for information at the bus stop in the morning. The ride to the city costs €2 per person. Depending on traffic, the travel time is about 35-45 minutes.

We start our stroll through the city at the Centro Cultural Bancaja.

Our first main destination is again the market hall with its delicacies.

With new impressions from the market hall, we pass the Lonja de la Seda, the Iglesia de los Santos Juanex (Church of Saint John) to the city gate.

The Torres de Quart is one of the two remaining city gates of the old city wall.

A few meters past the city gate, we reach our second main destination for today, the Botanical Garden. Admission is €4 per person at the regular price. Here, it is somewhat more pleasant temperature-wise than in the old town. We enjoy this place of tranquility before heading back to the old town.

We pay a visit to Café Infanata. There are seats outside and a great atmosphere inside. I think it will definitely be lively here in the evening.

Coffee isn’t really our thing in these temperatures, but the Sangria is highly recommended.

Our last leg takes us a bit more through the city and then through the Jardin del Turia Park back to the cruise terminal. The drained riverbed of the Turia is the local recreation area of Valencia.

Upon arrival at the port, our feet are really aching. Today we have walked about 14 km on foot. But despite the effort, it was a beautiful day.
