My Ship 7 Frankfurt - Gran Canaria

The night is short. Shortly after 5 AM, the alarm rings. After that, everything goes like clockwork. We are picked up at 06:00 AM and taken to the nearby Frankfurt am Main airport. Since we completed the online check-in with Lufthansa the day before, we could go directly to the terminal to print the luggage tags. We apply the tags and off we go with the luggage through the self-check-in.

Now the vacation really begins.

As always before a trip, we treat ourselves to a Prosecco. It's just a part of it.

Relaxed, we proceed to security control. Here at Frankfurt Airport Terminal A, they are of the latest generation. No more taking out liquids and electronic devices. Everything stays in the bag. Accordingly, it goes quite quickly there. Thus, we are actually way too early at Gate A60.

Boarding starts at 08:30 AM. Since our aircraft is parked at an outside position, we are driven there by bus.

When we reach cruising altitude, everyone receives a small bottle of water and then the opportunity to purchase more food and drinks through in-flight sales. A little piece of chocolate is also offered in between.

Around 12:00 PM, we flew over the Strait of Gibraltar according to the captain. Since I had chosen an aisle seat, no photos of the flight.

The gentle landing occurred at 12:50 PM local time.

Even after landing, everything went smoothly. At 13:40, we are in the shuttle to the ship. Travel time is about 25 minutes.

Last year, the Cruise Terminal in Las Palmas was still a construction site. Now the new building is complete.

First, the security check and then the check-in. Everything is done in just a few minutes, and we already have our first glimpse of our ship, the Mein Schiff 7, slightly obscured by the gangway.

For this trip, we have booked an outside cabin. As always, we chose the allocation option by the shipping company. Cabin 3125 is one of category A. Window with a seating niche and a couch for all your stuff 🤣. The cabins do not differ in their furnishings.

As we are frequent travelers and the Mein Schiff 7 is not new to us, we can enjoy everything right away. A little snack and refreshment at the Außenalster

Or a little ice cream at the ice cream bar.

Unpacking the suitcase is quickly done, and after a bit of downtime, we decide on dinner at the Restaurant Fischmarkt.

At 21:30, the departure party starts, and at 22:30 the first departure of this journey. Tomorrow is a sleep-in day. A sea day is ahead.

Good night. The bedtime treat and the daily program for tomorrow are ready in the cabin.
