Good morning!
Since I have about 4 hours until I have to leave for my bus and the weather is not very nice, I want to take this time to tell you about Saturday.
The day yesterday started with Hiral waking me up and asking me to have breakfast with her. However, since she hadn't finished packing the night before, she did that first and I talked to my mom on the phone. Then we had breakfast together at the hostel and at the same time looked at some hostels for Hiral in Antwerp. By the way, the food here at the hostel is really really good and the value for money is also reasonable. After the hostel and train were booked, she had to go straight away, so I accompanied her to the bus stop. Dear Hiral then headed to Antwerp, while I went back to the hostel where I immediately met Yomi, Sam, and Anthony again. Gradually, a few more people joined us, but I wanted to go back to the center to get some things and make the most of the good weather for as long as possible, as the weather forecast announced rain for the afternoon. Thanks to Paul, I quickly found the stores I wanted to go to, as he sent me directions via Facebook - having a tour guide in your contacts is really highly recommended. So after getting everything I needed, I strolled around Amsterdam for a while (by the way, I made a funny discovery - if the man didn't just cheekily use it, but it's really intended for that purpose, then there is a pillar in the middle of the sidewalk where 4 men can pee at the same time, I first thought I wasn't seeing it correctly) and walked to a few points, like the Anne Frank House and the Vondelpark. There I sat down, wrote the report for Friday and read a bit. Unfortunately, I had to stop reading earlier than I wanted, as the sun said goodbye as predicted and the raindrops visited Amsterdam. Back at the hostel, I met my new roommate. The dear young lady (to be honest, I forgot her name) is 21 years old and comes from Mexico, but she has already been in the Netherlands for the past two months as part of her university studies and now wanted to see Amsterdam again before flying back to Mexico. We talked a bit and it turned out that thanks to her studies, she has already been to a few German cities and met her (current) ex-boyfriend in Munich. But since she wanted to rest for a while, I wanted to give her some time for herself and left the room to join the usual guys. Eventually, my stomach spoke up again and so I went back to the center for food. In the end, I decided on Mexican food and enjoyed a pretty delicious burrito. On the way back, I noticed that I'm really tired from the past few days, so I just listened to some music with the guys for a bit and then went to bed in my room. But then I finally decided to pack my backpack as well as possible, since I should already have checked out before 10 am the next morning.
As you can see, my Saturday was pretty calm and compared to Friday, rather boring, but that was due to the weather and my fatigue.
Today or tomorrow I will write an extra post about Amsterdam, which will really focus on Amsterdam as a destination (promise)!
See you soon, friend!
