Because it was simply too hot for us at our campsite on the Adriatic, we decided to drive to a campsite in the Italian region of Trentino for two more days, where Julius' parents were on vacation. There we swam in Lago di Caldonazzo, a beautiful lake surrounded by the Alps.
Once we cycled along the Brenta River to Borgo (yes, the same river that flows into the sea next to the campsite in Chioggia), to visit the town and have dinner there. Unfortunately, a terrible thunderstorm broke out, with strong winds and rain, so we could only cycle back at night and... we couldn't find the awning anymore. Well, we did find it, but it was turned upside down on the roof of a caravan. We repaired everything temporarily at night and then properly the next morning.
In addition, we went hiking. Here we discovered traces of past wars: shelters hewn into the rock, man-made trenches in the middle of the mountains, and even a huge bunker. The hiking trail itself was very beautiful and a bit challenging. We ended the vacation with good food and wine.
