Today I had my first day at work in the company. I was supposed to be in the office at 10 o'clock (working hours are usually from 9 o'clock to 6 o'clock) and was received by the CEO on the 9th floor. There are a total of 25 people working in this office and there is a showroom for the products.
At the moment, I am sitting at the desk of the CEO from Germany, who is frequently in Hong Kong. This desk is shared with the CEO from Hong Kong in one office.
The Chinese employees sit in rows in each room. In the last row, there are always those who have the most responsibilities and authorities. But everyone has welcomed me kindly. Today, there were many demonstrations and almost the entire MTR (subway) in Hong Kong was blocked by protesters, so some people did not come to the office or came later.
I am shadowing the CEO throughout the day. Today, there were many meetings with suppliers. Very interesting discussions...
During lunch break, I enjoyed the sun, which was shining properly for the first time today. Just a few steps away from the office, you have a great view over the water. With 33 degrees and wearing long clothes, it is very hot.. on the other hand, in the office it is very cold due to the air conditioning.
I am excited to see how the next few days will be :-)
