The last week has once again passed by normally and quite quickly. The only thing at the moment is that I'm still not getting along with the oldest one. He treats me like an employee. He wants to send me around like a fool, but I won't allow that. After all, I'm not his servant, but his au pair. Besides, he looks down on me as if he's much better than me. But I just smile and be overly friendly, because that annoys him the most, or I try to ignore him. Other than that, I'm still really happy with my host family and I've been accepted as a family member by the rest. The parents really take care of me and think about me.
On the weekend, the family took me to Lake Geneva, which is in Wisconsin, because I had to work on Saturday evening. Lake Geneva is a really beautiful city, although I couldn't see much of it because we left very late and arrived late as well. We went to the vacation house of the family's friends, who were also there. The family has four more children, the oldest of whom is 16. Together with her, I looked after the rest (8 children). That was a task in itself :D
On Sunday, the father drove me home early so that I could go to the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues. My contact person organized that. It was absolutely amazing and the gospel choir sang beautifully. The Gospel Brunch is definitely something you have to experience when you're here in Chicago.
