5.30 am - and the day begins, we must be in Split by 8.00 am. Accompanied by Croatian Christmas music from the radio, we head to the meeting point.

The journey is wild and the further we get on the sea - a total of 1.5 hours - the more lively and faster it becomes. I realize more than once: "my kidney is tearing", while the aunt casually says: "A panty liner is not enough for me today."

But we enjoy the loooong journey with the two skippers (together they are only 40 years old) and arrive at the blue cave, quickly change the boat and then we drive - shhh, very quietly - into the cave. It is sooo blue, calm and dark. Very impressive.

There are several islands, opportunities for swimming, tanning, strolling and eating on the islands of Vis, Hvar and many more.

The return journey scares me ... we mainly drive in the wake of another speedboat. 10 points for skillfully leading over the sea, 0 points for being sure that I would meet my creator today.... Only the crossing from Bali to Lombok back then was worse.

And the aunt... has sunstroke 👎🏼
