One last time we traveled south by train (except for our return to Austria). Our destination was Pécs, where we visited Ali's best friend Gutti. He has been doing his voluntary overseas service there since the beginning of September instead of doing civil service in Austria.
When we arrived at Budapest-Keleti train station, we were initially confused. Our train was listed on the departure board, but no platform was shown half an hour before departure. So we focused on our breakfast from the bakery first. When we finally knew where our train was going to start, we immediately got on board and looked for our reserved seats.
After a little over three hours of travel, we arrived in Pécs and met Gutti at his shared flat, where we left our backpacks. Gutti then guided us purposefully to some sights for the first two kilometers and thus showed us the city. Since he has only been living in Pécs for a short time, we continued exploring together and stumbled upon some major works.
After we thought our exploration tour was complete, we bought all the ingredients for a shared dinner at the shared flat. Due to Mini's unique experience with the gas stove in Ljubljana, he took the lead in cooking. The three of us helped prepare the ingredients and it didn't take long before we all called for dinner in English. Gutti lives together with three other volunteers - an Italian, a German, and an Austrian. So while we enjoyed our tacos, we conversed in English due to the different languages.
Lots of laughter, funny English phrases, and interesting conversations made time pass quickly. So we didn't tidy up and clean everything until a little later in the evening. We wished everyone a good night, quickly prepared for the next day, and fell asleep quickly after this eventful day.
