After thoroughly testing Nelson, its surroundings, and above all the wineries for 5 days, it was time to move on to Blenheim or rather to the Marlborough wine region.
I was able to secure one of the last rooms and booked myself into a B&B in Renwick. Unfortunately, I only noticed after the booking that the room was only 6 square meters.
After that, I actually didn't want to go there anymore. But I still went and stayed for 3 nights. Reshma, my host, was so helpful and friendly that the stay was really nice. This also had to do with the other guests.
Upon arrival, Reshma sent me on a wine tour that was supposed to start at 6 p.m. at the Hans Herzog winery. A very good tip! Especially since the winery has one of the best restaurants in the area.
At the winery, I met two Australians (one turned out to be German afterwards). She invited me to join her at the table and we had a very nice evening in the winery garden.
While the ladies enjoyed oysters as an appetizer, I stuck with fish as the main course (unfortunately, I forgot the name of the fish. But I think it was Franz). There were very crunchy beans and a salad with a very subtle vinegar from the winery and their own olive oil.
I simply didn't have enough fish in the past few days.
Just like in the past few days, this one was unfortunately too tender and very dry. What a pity!
