and who invented it? Railway history in the UK.
After the challenging days in the Highlands, we have been driving through flatter areas for a few days. Agriculture dominates here again, with many pastures and free-roaming cattle, but the sheep also continue to accompany us.
Since yesterday, we have been riding longer stretches on old railway tracks, which have been specially prepared for cyclists. This includes going over viaducts and old steel bridges. Yesterday, mostly along the coast, today we rode further inland - always with a bit of railway history, old platforms, the occasional forgotten sign, and many very old bridges.
Tomorrow we will head to Aberdeen....
