After waking up, we FaceTimed with our loved ones at home. Then we started the longest drive yet, up the west coast. E fell asleep pretty soon so we drove and drove.
The drive along the Buller River was not boring with the large rock walls. When we arrived on the west coast we were greeted by strong waves and large mountains.
We actually wanted to camp on the Fox River, but found the area creepy, so after a short detour to the beach and an elephant-like rock (we saw one) we continued towards Greymouth.
On the way we made the most touristy stop so far: The Pancake Rocks. But the layered rocks with the beautiful blue sea in the background are worth a stop.
And then we arrived at our Freedom place for the night at 5:30. It was good here, the toilets were clean and the parking lot was well occupied. We had delicious lamb stew with rice from Benny and we went to the coast and the huge waves before going to bed.
