After a three-hour drive through some interesting towns and through a sparsely populated area, we drove on to our next accommodation yesterday: a beautiful, modern wooden cabin on a guest ranch near Canime Lake with a great view over the Rach lands and almost in a secluded location.
After our arrival we were loudly greeted by the guard dog, and a Golden Redriver puppy happily accompanied us from reception to our cabin. The approximately 88 hectare ranch offers not only a beautiful landscape (fields, pastures, forest, bush and rivers) but also some of its own trails, so that today we can leave the car parked for a day for the first time on our vacation.
Unfortunately, the internet connection here in the hinterland is very poor and intermittently interrupted, so that the blog entry last night was not possible - but there is a wonderful silence here and we were able to have a great campfire with a barbecue in front of our terrace last night (there was delicious turkey maple chili). Sausages that we bought in the ranch shop). Even after sunset it was wonderful to sit on the terrace and we could listen to chattering geese and a howling wolf. Honestly, who needs an internet connection anyway!
