It is said that the weather here in the northwest of Scotland covers 5 seasons in a day. And not only that. When the sun shines, you might feel like you're in the Caribbean - as long as you don't touch the water. But children don’t let the 15° C water temperature stop them. And when it’s 18° in the air, it almost feels warmer in the water.
In the past few days, on Harris and Lewis, there has been not only a lot of variety in the weather and landscape but also in the observed wildlife.
We spotted eagles hunting for rabbits, seals lounging, and wild geese.
After a sunny day at an Iron Age village, Storm Floris followed, which nearly brought the entire infrastructure of the Hebrides to a standstill. We battled through storm gusts of over 70 km/h to reach the next campsite. Today is therefore a 'rest day'. Tomorrow, we'll head to the coast again to visit some sights like 'Black Houses', mystical churches, and ancient stone circles.
