Travel Travel... And goodbye

Departure + Flights
There's not much exciting to report on this.
Thanks to the lovely Aggi, we had a wonderful airport shuttle service, and the baggage drop at the airport went very quickly (even though we had different weight classes).

After a brief stop at McD, where the McSpicy had to be tried, we went through the somewhat slow security check to the gate.
Upon arrival, there was a short but very welcome phone call to the USA. And almost directly onto the plane.

The flight itself was not very exciting. The food was good, sleep was rather little and not good.

In Abu Dhabi, the transfer was super quick, and searching for a reasonably priced cappuccino took a bit longer. But it's always good for step counting.
Overall, the airport is really stylish, and there are many shops far beyond my budget. But you can at least look at what you can't afford. 😉
Then we went on to Bangkok; the food was good, and we slept a little too.
The flight was overall quite calm.

At the airport itself, immigration was quick, especially since we had already filled out the digital entry form beforehand.
Quickly got SIM cards at the airport, this time from AIS for 15 days / 799 Baht. You can book additional time and data volume economically after it expires.
On level 1, you will find the Public Taxi area; please take a ticket at the “regular” machine.
There was a minimal discussion about whether to use a meter or not, but that ended after two sentences.
Our ride cost us, including highway fees + tip, 500 Baht. (He initially wanted a fixed price of 700-800 Baht.) No traffic jams, so it was a good 30-minute ride.

Checked into the hotel quickly, then Egg got to pick some food.
He did great; absolutely fantastic Pad Krapao (Grababbel for those in the know), Pad See Eew, Papaya Salad (which was possibly a bit spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️), and mini spring rolls.

Now we’re lying a bit exhausted but happy about the start of the vacation in bed.
