We woke up early and set off straight to the city. On the agenda was a visit to the Tokyo Government Building. We lived nearby, so we walked there. This skyscraper has two towers, each 243 meters tall with 48 floors. On the 45th floor, there is an observation deck that is even free of charge. We were surprised to encounter almost no other tourists. We took the elevator up to the 45th floor, from which we had a breathtaking view of the entire city. The visibility was excellent; we could see as far as Mount Fuji and remembered how we had been up there just a few days ago. It was simply magnificent. We strolled around the observation deck for a long time, admiring the city from all angles. Afterwards, it was time to move on. We also visited the Meiji Shrine, located within Yoyogi Park.

We walked through the adjacent park, and then it was time to say goodbye to the city and pack all our things back into the backpack.
In the morning, we made our way to Tokyo Airport and from there back to Germany.
Japan left a deep impression on us – a country that feels so far away, yet is so fascinating and full of humility.
