17. Meteora Rocks

Day 17: Today we have hiked around the Meteora rocks on a trail. We consciously avoided the immediate vicinity of the monasteries. Firstly, because the nature there is already stunning even without the monasteries, and secondly, because even on Sunday there is already quite a lot going on outside the season. On the trail itself, we only encountered a handful of people. However, the parking lots in front of the monasteries were quite full. Tomorrow, we also want to explore some of the monasteries up close and from the inside.

We can definitely recommend the hike, as the surroundings are very impressive. It has the quality of the best national parks in North America, but here combined with culture and the amenities of fully developed tourist towns.
