Pirates, novels, explorers, Sherlock and Wallace and Gromit

Recently, parts of the new episodes of Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch were apparently filmed here, as it looks similar to London and there is not as much traffic. It's nice to know that there will be more episodes of the series! Remarkable is also the alley on the left side of the picture, Orchard Avenue. The slightly angled facade on both sides causes every sound in this alley to be distorted into an extremely special sound by a spiral echo :-D

John Cabot, or Giovanni Caboto in his homeland Venice, is considered the first European explorer of the North American mainland after the Vikings. Supported by Henry VII, he sailed across the Atlantic to find a shorter route to Asia, just like Columbus. He first reached Greenland, and then on further voyages, Newfoundland. There is a monument to him on the right side of the picture, but the Cabot Tower is also named after him. In addition, there is a figure of Gromit on the left side of the picture, the studios for the Wallace and Gromit films are also located here in Bristol.

Of course, besides street art, I also looked at other things, some background information about Edward Teach's (Black Beard) early years before he became a notorious pirate was also found. I also discovered some places here in Bristol that significantly influenced English literature and many other things related to Bristol.

But more about that in the captions.

Bristol is a wonderful city with a lot of small and big things to discover. For example, the Bristol Pound, a local currency that can only be used by local artisans and artists to increase attention for them.
