Hello again!
On Saturday, June 21st, on Midsummer Day, we checked out from CICCIO SUL MARE.
Yesterday we arrived at our next stop, Nicotera Marina, which is located 25 km south of Santa Maria. An Italian middle-aged couple gave us a spontaneous taxi ride. It warmed our hearts, as it was about 4 km to walk down to the marina. Nicotera, the actual village, is situated on top of a hill and the railway runs just below.
We are staying at B&B Casa Del Sole. A charming place with only 4 rooms. Almost exclusively Italian is spoken here.
Nicotera Marina has a long, long sandy beach, beach clubs interspersed with public beach and fishing boats.
The village feels authentic, with families, elderly people, schoolchildren of various ages, worn houses, and laundry hanging outside the windows. Today, at the beach club we chose, it was filled with Italians who felt like sunbathing, swimming, socializing, and some played cards under the umbrellas.
