The road to Mestia should be accessible by van, according to information in Ushguli. Only 8 km off-road, the remaining 36 km paved. First we take a walk through Ushguli and get to know the old part of the town. With its many defensive towers, it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. At around 10 a.m. we start the journey to Mestia and the road is as advertised. Then a break in Mestia. We shop and stroll through the beautiful place. Once again we discover a beautifully designed police station, as there are new and very beautiful police buildings all over the country. Then we say goodbye to the mountains and drive down endless serpentines. It's getting noticeably warmer. Shortly after Poti we get fresh fish from the street vendor and reach the Black Sea Camping right by the sea around 6 p.m. Here we find a nice parking space. Our neighbor is Hubertus, a psychotherapist from Saarland. We start talking immediately. With the sound of the sea we fall asleep, tired and satisfied. 8219 km
