Day 3 - Taking the ferry to Sweden

Published: 02.07.2017

I'm currently on the ferry, and since there's free WiFi here and I have more than enough time, I'll give you a mid-update today.

I woke up today at 04:00, in hindsight it was a good decision. The room from last night was a disaster. This morning, all the entrances were blocked. No car could go in or out. Luckily, I was able to take my motorcycle through the meadow and then through the pedestrian entrance. I was already on the move around 05:00 and arrived at my destination at 05:15 (it was only about 10km to the port).

The drive onto the ferry was relatively time-consuming, but otherwise uneventful. I was really fascinated by how many cars and trucks fit on such a ship. There are three decks that are stacked full with vehicles. Unfortunately, you can only partially see it in the photo, but there are a total of 6 or 7 lanes side by side.

Right now, I'm sitting at the breakfast buffet, €6.50 doesn't scare me at all. Plus, I was able to use up my last Zloty 😉

Arrival in Trelleborg is at 14:30, then I'll first go to the Mediamarkt in Malmö (Kristianstad doesn't work well with the opening hours), and then continue towards Jönköping. Here, I'll actually be driving on the highway for once, but I have to mention that the highways in Sweden are like upgraded country roads in Austria/Germany (110km/h speed limit, etc.)

In the evening, there will be another update including today's expenses (assuming I have a working phone with internet by then 😃)
