We decide to wait on a plateau from where we have a very good view of the ancient Inca fortress... when the fog clears😉. Around 10 o'clock, the clouds start moving and a little later the fog clears, revealing the first glimpses! Fantastic, we are totally amazed! The magnificent location of the ruins amidst steep and exciting mountain peaks and lush vegetation is truly breathtaking. It was not until the first half of the 20th century that the well-hidden ruins were discovered, and to this day the purpose of the city is not clearly known. A fortress, a religious and astronomical center for scholars, a country residence for rulers, or a sanctuary for the Sun Maidens? All that is certain is that the place was a sacred site and was built in the middle of the 16th century. In any case, we are glad that our efforts have paid off and that we can enjoy some wonderful views before the fog sets in again.
