09/06/24 Ingleby Arncliffe to Clay Bank Top (and by car to Great Broughton)

The BBC promised sunshine for today. But there was no sun, only mist, or to be precise, real fog (visibility under 180m). In the fog, we first walked through a fairy-tale forest and then up and down repeatedly, a total of 780m. The elevation profile of this stage looked like the ECG of a very healthy person. Moreover, after the boring field walking of the past days, we wished for a path that required concentration - and we got it. Slippery stones steeply up, slippery stones steeply down. All attention was focused on the next step, rather than on packing or financial lists for the next two years. But even though it may not sound like it, we had a lot of fun today.
