New leader in the ugliest towns

We arrived in Cesana Torinese shortly before the rains began after a varied drive over two passes.

1. Train and bus ride to Modane. As it later turned out, this was a good decision. The train, main road and half of the motorway are closed due to a rock fall.
2. In the slipstream of two other Gümmeler, we drive quickly along the route to Lanslebourg known from the 2021 tour.
3. There is early coffee at 11 a.m.
4. Drive to the Mont Cenis Pass. Clouds hang above. Easy climb through forest. The entire slope is criss-crossed with ski facilities and ski slopes. We are then rewarded with a long, rapid descent to Suza, Italy.
5. Lunch at an Egyptian restaurant… pizza!
6. Train ride to Oulx - we save ourselves this climb through a valley like the Leventina.
7. Short bike ride to Cesana for an early 3 p.m. coffee.
8. Drive to Sestriere before the forecast rain (see title for comment).
