We have arrived in Montreal, where we will be spending our next time until Christmas. We are excited to see if we will get snow. For now, we are enjoying a beautiful autumn and exploring many playgrounds with a great variety in our area, the Plateau Mont Royal. During the week, we share the playgrounds in the morning with the many kindergarten groups, each consisting of about 10 children and one caregiver, coming from four different directions. In the end, there are at least four to about six groups on one playground.
This neighborhood is very colorful and lively, but also a little less clean than we were used to from Quebec, a very well-maintained city. The nice thing is that our children eat almost everything, which allows us to eat in many small Asian, Italian, or Canadian restaurants quickly and affordably. This is a small luxury for Mom, so she doesn't have to cook all the time.
The children still often ask why we don't have a car when we go shopping and everyone has something in their backpack. However, they also love the buses and subway, so the question is quickly forgotten.
Our apartment is functional and after consultation, we now have two small cabinets where we can put things and not live completely out of suitcases. We got other things, like a step stool for the kids, from Ikea. Now we can manage and hope the heating is working too.
