Come with me on a walk to the Eiffel Tower - from the first to the last photo, it keeps getting bigger and finally, it shines and sparkles!
During a walk of about 1 hour, the Eiffel Tower initially appears quite small, just the tip. The closer you get, the more of it you can see. I really have to say, in real life, this monument is even more impressive, looking larger and more massive.
Did you know that the Eiffel Tower was not well-received at first and was supposed to be torn down? It was said that 'it does not fit in with the city.' And yet, it still stands. Additionally, research laboratories were set up in the top floors, which is something I also did not know.
After the boat trip (documented in a separate post), I headed to the Esplanade Trocadero, from where you are said to have the best view of the Eiffel Tower. As soon as it gets dark, the Eiffel Tower sparkles every hour on the hour until midnight for a full 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I cannot upload the video of the sparkling; you need an upgrade for that :( The sparkling was breathtaking - today I want to try to experience it once more!
