14.07.2019 9:30 Departure with the metro towards the city center
Outside temperature: 20°C sunny
Today we slept in again. When we woke up around 8 o'clock, we were almost the last ones on the campsite. After the morning routine, we took the metro into the city again. The first stop was the 'Sky View', a movable viewing sphere on the outside of the largest dome building in the world. Mom got scared at the last moment, so Dad was allowed to enjoy the view of Stockholm alone with about 20 Indians (or were they chickens) for 25 minutes. After that, we headed towards the Royal Palace. After a refreshment in the old town, we hurried and arrived in time for the changing of the guards. With horses, lots of music, and also history, the whole thing was a bit more spectacular than in Copenhagen.
Afterwards, we visited the Stockholm Cathedral right next door, the freely accessible royal chambers in the palace, and the well-secured toilets.
We took the Hop On/Hop Off bus to Skansen Park, the largest open-air museum in Scandinavia. Here we could admire the ancient way of life and a whole bunch of animals. This time there were even 2 moose! Furthermore, brown bears, wolves, owls, and a family of lynxes with 3 pretty clumsy young ones.
After a long sunny day, we enjoyed our dinner under the open sky when we arrived at the campsite and ended it at the dog playground, where Marley showed us what he can do (or not).
