After almost a week at home with a beautiful wedding and a lot of time with my loved ones, I set off towards the north.

Such big goals

My secret goal, the North Cape. But there are still a few thousand kilometers to go. From my current perspective, it's actually a bigger challenge than I had envisioned. But that's a story for another time.

See the North Sea

The first stop on my journey was Sankt Peter-Ording. I had heard a lot about this place by the Wadden Sea, and especially, there is a beautiful yoga hotel where I would love to attend a retreat (“Das Kubatzki”).

The arrival was stormy and cold; strong winds and rain whipped around me as I walked to the famous beach of the Wadden Sea. Then the restaurant “Arche Noah” came like a savior in need. I had to take shelter here and protect myself from the rough seaside weather. Fortunately, after a short time, the skies cleared, and I was able to take a lovely walk with my feet in the sea.

Dansk

From there, I crossed the border to Denmark. I spent another night here and made a stop at the beautiful lighthouse “Rubjerk Knude,” which is built on a wandering dune and stands by an impressive steep coast, then continued on to Hirtshals, where I took my ferry to Norway the next day.

A sea voyage that is fun, a sea voyage that is beautiful

The ferry impressed me greatly and gave me a feel of a cruise. It is very elegant and well-maintained, and I spent my day in the Commanders Restaurant at a breakfast buffet. I sat in a kind of conservatory with palm trees and a view of the sea. There, I met a German couple who own a cabin in Norway and are on their way there. We had a very nice conversation, and I might visit them there.

Norway the First

Upon arriving in Kristiansand, I first drove whichever way towards Stavanger and settled down at a charming lake in a campground to treat myself to another hot shower.

The first impression of Norway is, of course, gigantic, and I first need to process the journey here and the quick movement in the camper.

All in all, I have had less luck with the weather so far and have made use of the few rain-free hours for short walks. I hope the weather conditions will improve again in the coming weeks.

In the next post, I will share my first excursions and sights in Norway and also give a little insight into my inner world.

Until then

Namaste & all my love

Michi
