'And wherever you look, there is water everywhere. Water and rugged nature that surrounds you and seems impossible to let go of.'
Iceland has also been a dream destination for me for a long time. And for many others too, as I've heard! In the last few years, this country has become a true travel lover. And now that I've been there, I can say with certainty: rightly so!
After a (thanks to Corona...) failed attempt in the summer, my friend Yvonne and I tried again in September. Our planning was very last minute and I kept doubting whether we would actually make it. But we did! For a week, we traveled around the island with a rented car - definitely plan more time for a round trip!
We saw waterfalls, mighty mountains, glaciers. We drove through foggy landscapes, down serpentine roads, and over gravel tracks, showered under waterfalls, and bathed in hot springs. We had a lot of fun on our road trip across the island and played models in countless photo shoots (with the impressive view, you can hardly put the camera down).
But not only nature, but also the capital Reykjavik enchants with charm and good food.
Of course, Iceland is not for everyone's taste, the weather is quite unpredictable and often cold, the roads are definitely not well developed, and the food is expensive. But it's all worth it. Considering the enchanting beauty that Iceland has to offer, the wild nature, and the freedom that you can literally taste in the air. Like a waterfall itself, the country grabs you, carries you away, and takes your breath away.
For nature lovers: definitely a must!
